Who I am ...
For over thirty years I was a stressed out, type A, workaholic, "gotta be a perfect Mom," kind of woman. I worked in restaurants with easy-to-access food that wasn't healthy, but it sure did taste good! I faced the reality that I just didn't feel good....lack of energy, very overweight, achy joints, constipated and rosacea flaring on my face.
Going back to school, I found a solution to my problem, and have spent many years learning how our bodies work and understanding the process. I was able to lose 80 pounds and have kept it off for years.

I've learned that there is not one eating plan, protocol, or method that works for everyone. Each person has their own history, genetics, environmental factors, emotional triggers and eating style.
This may not always be an easy journey. Especially if you aren't willing to be open-minded and make some changes on how most of us were raised with the standard American diet. I know I can help you feel better than you have in years. You will increase your energy, lose your cravings for sugar and carbohydrates, sleep better and poop better too! You think feeling tired and bloated is normal and that you have no control over how your body digests your food....but you know you're smart and educated, and it shouldn't be this hard. There are a few reasons I wanted to work with Nourish with Laurie. One reason was that my doctor wanted me to start using medication to lower my cholesterol and was telling me that I was pre-diabetic.
Even though I was not grossly overweight, I was still carrying an extra 10-15 pounds that just never seemed to budge. I was also extremely stressed and felt exhausted all of the time.
What I really liked about Laurie's approach was that we weren't just focused on a "diet" and "bad foods" to avoid. I learned that there are many aspects to good health, both physical and mental, and that they work together.
Since working with Laurie, my overall health has improved in many ways; I am not so confused about eating, she taught me the importance of supplements and she has given me direction on what to take each month.
